Gerd's apron

In the beginning of the 50ies all girls had aprons. The apron protected the dress and the apron was decorative. To choose material was a pleasure and the pieces of cloth that was left could be clothes for your doll. Many mothers embroidered fine patterns or made frills and it was high fashion for the girls.

Apron in sheeting and with embroideries in pearl cotton. All stems are handsewn by a girl of 11-12 years of age. 1940.
