A piece of shelf-edging in red and white

Over the kitchen stove there often was a hood with a shelf. At holidays the hood was whitewashed and the shelf got a pretty handembroidered edging.

But the shelf-edging could be seen in the cupboard too. Then the edging wasn´t so wide.

A handembroidered piece of shelf-edging from 1930 in stem-stitches and blanket stitching. A bargain!!
