A magnificent Advent calendar

The 1st of December is a wonderful day for all Swedish children. Then the Advent calendars of the year start in radio and on TV, and then is the start of a gift time. In almost every home you can find calendars with doors or parcels to open .In the parcels there are sweets or small presents, one for each day until Christmas Eve. A very nice custom for dark December days!

A hand embroidered Advent calendar, about 125x42 cm, with Christmas motifs in half cross- stitches. It is made of a kind of canvas and has a lining. At every date there is a ring to attach the parcels. Bought in the 90ies.
