Holders for the newspapers

The daily newspaper was often put in a holder hanging on the wall. It would be there for several days in order to be properly read. Then you could cut out important news and articles. At last you could use the rest to make a fire.

Three different holders for the daily papers, two made in linen and one in cotton, embroidered in different stitches. They are made from 1930 to 1950 but I bought them in the 90ies.
